IMA Schelling
Securely networked into the future
At IMA Schelling, NTS takes care of stable networks and security infrastructure with expertise, reliability and a tailor-made Managed Service.
IMA Schelling Group is a global operating specialist, in the field of mechanical and plant engineering, with its focus on intelligent solutions for industrial manufacturing. The business stands for its highest precision, quality, and automation. To continue to be able to focus on their innovation strength, IMA Schelling have continuedly relied on collaborating with NTS – from hardware sizing all the way to comprehensive Managed Services
From hardware partner to a strategic IT service provider
What started as a traditional supplier relationship has developed into an intensive IT partnership over the years. With the continuous expansion of the NTS service portfolio at IMA Schelling, starting in the area of UC with Cisco Webex, a stable basis was gradually created, which reaches far beyond a mere provisioning of a product. Since 2023, the LAN/WLAN has also been looked after by NTS as a Managed Service. With the firewall support, a further central component has been added in 2025. For IMA Schelling, the advantages are obvious: higher availability, less downtime risks and a competent partner at their side.
Stefan Pokorny, Werner Mennel & Edgar Kässmaier (v.l.n.r.)
“Having the concentrated expertise of NTS behind us gives us certitude, both professionally and personally. We ensure a high availability especially thanks to the 24×7 support.”
Edgar Kässmaier Head of IT Operations, IMA Schelling GroupTailor-made services for high availability and efficiency
A key factor for the success has been the technical expertise of NTS in addition to the ability to integrate organizationally. Especially with such a profound change in the IT infrastructure, it was essential to take the internal teams along on the journey as well. This professionalism and the ability to cooperate with the NTS teams facilitated this transformation considerably.
In the area of network, the technical starting point in particular presented a challenge. Firstly, many components had to be updated to the latest version, patched and refreshed during maintenance windows. In parallel, it was important to create the basis for standardized commissioning of new devices, both in the LAN/WLAN and in the firewall area. The considerable effort to bring the existing standards in line with the internal company configurations has paid off in the long term.
“Short communication channels and close coordination within the NTS teams enable a particularly efficient collaboration. For us, this is absolutely an added value.“
Stefan Pokorny Head of Core Infrastructure, IMA Schelling GroupToday, the continuous extension towards Managed Services not only creates technical redundancy, but also reduces the workload on staff and provides planning security. Additionally, the holistic view of LAN, WLAN, and security enables a significantly better failure analysis, which is a clear advantage when it comes to the stability of the entire IT infrastructure.
