Room experience optimization

Facility Manager

Each department in a company has distinct requirements for modern meeting rooms. Unlike IT administrators or HR teams, Facility Managers ensure smooth processes, efficient room utilization and facilities that support reliable daily operations. NTS room solutions are designed to make rooms clearly structured, intuitive to use, and reliable in operation. This facilitates the organization, increases the occupancy rate and allows for seamless daily routines.

Room occupancy rate & optimization

Use your precise user data from the Webex Control Hub to understand how meeting rooms are effectively utilized. This includes occupation time, duration of the meeting and the number of participants. This information is crucial for room planning that is supported by data, and for an optimization of the room sizes and equipment.

Your advantages:

  • Efficient room planning
  • Reduction of unused or overbooked spaces
  • Cost saving by optimized space utilization

Sensor-based room information (environment sensors)

Cisco video devices come with integrated environment sensors, that supply real-time data regarding temperature, air humidity, CO2 concentration, ambient light and ambient volume as well as the number of persons. This information can be used to automatically adjust the indoor climate (e.g. via building management systems) or to optimize the frequency of cleaning.

Your advantages:

  • Creation of a healthy indoor climate
  • Energy efficiency by intelligent control of heating, ventilation and climate
  • Improvement of hygiene and increased convenience for users

“Rooms not only have to be functional, but with the help of data, sensor technology, and smart solutions, places should be created that combine efficiency, well-being, and sustainability.”

Michael Perwög Facility Manager

Energy efficiency & sustainability

Energy consumption can be minimized by monitoring device usage and by having the possibility to put devices into an energy-efficient sleeping mode when not in use (e.g., overnight or on weekends) or to automatically switch them off. The devices can also activate power saving modes that are based on occupancy.

Your advantages:

  • Decrease in operational costs by reduced electricity consumption
  • Contribution to sustainability targets
  • Reduction of the CO2 footprint

Simplified room booking and utilization

The integration with calendar systems such as Microsoft Outlook and Google Calendar permits seamless room bookings. This is complemented by the intelligent booking platform NTS JARVIS that noticeably simplifies the room and meeting organization. The devices clearly indicate the status of the room (available/occupied) and allow for an ad hoc booking or for an immediate start of meetings directly from the device.

Your advantages:

  • Reduction of double bookings and conflicts
  • Efficient room utilization
  • Intuitive and frustration-free start to the meeting
  • Productivity increase of the employees

Inventory and status of third-party components in the Control Hub

The Webex Control Hub enables the capturing and management of third-party peripheral devices that are connected to Cisco video devices (e.g., displays, additional microphones, cameras or control systems of other manufacturers). The API interfaces and the device integration not only allow information such as model and serial number to be recorded but also enable the retrieval of information about the current status (e.g., whether a display is switched on or off, audio status of an external microphone, etc.).

Your advantages:

  • Central view over the entire room setup
  • Simplified asset management and inventory
  • Efficient planning of maintenance works and upgrades
  • Improved fault diagnosis during problems with third-party hardware through immediate access to its operating status

Comprehensive sharing possibilities (wireless & wired)

Cisco video devices provide miscellaneous options for content release. Thereby, they fulfil the most diverse user requirements. Wireless protocols are supported, such as Apple AirPlay, Miracast, Cisco Webex Share and TeamsCast for the integration into Microsoft Teams as well as wired connections via HDMI and USB-C with simultaneous power supply. Contents can be transferred from laptops, tablets or smartphones without cables, adapters or additional software. HDMI and USB-C cables are available for devices without wireless support as a reliable alternative. The set-up is intuitive and does not require complex configuration.

Your advantages:

  • Maximal flexibility for all devices and application cases
  • High user friendliness and a faster start to the meeting
  • Less cables and dongles
  • Consistent presentation experience for all user and device types
  • Minimal interruptions and highest productivity

Simple cable management and installation

Cisco video devices are designed for minimalistic cabling. As an example, many room kits, including the Room Navigator touch controller and external cameras such as the Cisco Room Vision PTZ, often only require a single network cable (PoE – Power over Ethernet) to transmit power, video, audio or control signals. This reduces considerably the complexity of the installation and creates a tidy aesthetic in the room.

Your advantages:

  • Faster and cheaper installation
  • Reduced cabling effort, less tripping hazards and more tidiness
  • Higher flexibility when positioning the devices, simpler troubleshooting and maintenance due to less connection points
  • A professional appearance of the meeting rooms
