NTS VIENNA
A second home in the second district: From the year 2000 onwards, Vienna has become the second NTS location – and it is now a fixed part of the NTS success story ever since.
What started with a small team with much commitment evolved over the years into a dynamic location with Viennese charm and true team spirit. Michael Frischauf has been heading the location Vienna since March 2024 and – together with his team – he relies on cohesion, enthusiasm, and customer proximity.
Between Viennese charm and the NTS spirit
“You arrive at the office in Vienna, open the door and somehow everybody is in a good mood.” And this despite the common rumour about people from Vienna to have more of a specific ‘charm’, a euphemism for the sometimes quite gruff and direct manner that you encounter during a hustle in the subway, at the till of a supermarket or when paying the bill in a typical old Viennese coffee house.
Michael Frischauf (foto), a Vienna native himself, who took over the location management from Alexander Müllner (now NTS Chief Commercial Officer) in March 2024, considers the “Viennese charm” a cultural asset. “Regardless of it, or maybe precisely because of it, everybody at NTS always maintains this positive attitude that captured me from the very beginning.” At his location, Frischauf mainly puts emphasis on the fact that the team spirit is lived and that the satisfaction of employees and customers is paramount. “For me, this combination is what creates the NTS spirit.”
Better than ‘Groundhog Day’
Together with his team, Frischauf covers the areas of Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland and the customer listing is like an extract from the Who’s Who of the Austrian industry. However, the Vienna team is still far from its limits. “We are very well positioned for the future”, states the location manager. “I see great potential in NTS and of course in my team as well. And for me it is important that great achievements are recognized and that they are also celebrated.”
By having such a large team, it is important to not lose the plot. “I enjoy my work very much, it continues to be very diverse. This is strenuous at times, but I consider it a positive challenge. All this is better than ‘Groundhog Day’. Including OC, currently 196 colleagues are working at the location in the second district.
“For me it is important that great achievements are recognized and that they are also celebrated.”
Michael Frischauf Territory Manager, Vienna, Lower Austria & Burgenland, NTSSo, there is always something happening at the Vienna location! Hence it is important to be able to relax properly during leisure time. “Vienna holds all possibilities that one desires,” suggests Frischauf. You can either opt for the vibrant, colorful metropolis, or for a recreation area that can be found at the distance of five subway stations. Accordingly, one will be able to find the right balance.” Frischauf prefers to relax by doing sport, playing his guitar or with his Australian shepherd dog, June.
Viennese Tradition
Although Frischauf introduced his own management style at the office, some location traditions became however simply part of it. “After each quarter meeting we conclude with a barbecue, or we treat ourselves to some “Leberkäse” in the legendary corner bar. This was introduced by Alexander Müllner, and we have kept it that way.”
This mix of stability and the fresh breeze shapes the atmosphere at the Vienna office – it is noticeable as soon as you open the door. In between “Leberkäse” in the corner bar, a wink full of Viennese charm and true team spirit, a special work culture is created that encourages performance, that is appreciated at the same time. With his open, approachable nature, Michael Frischauf represents this balance, and he manages to bring tradition and further development under one roof. Thus, NTS Vienna not only stands for a location with strong results, but also for a location where you enjoy walking through the door – with a smile that is contagious.
