The FlexPod stack is being expanded to include AI in order to continue the long-standing success story. As a certified FlexPod partner, NTS has already proven its expertise in this area.

The FlexPod solution from Cisco and NetApp has been on the market for many years and is a product that countless customers trust with their data. The solution combines innovative products such as Cisco UCS-X, NetApp storage, Cisco Nexus and MDS SAN network, NVIDIA GPUs, and related management products. It provides the perfect platform for inferencing and pre-trained fine-tuning.Tailored to the customer’s use case, it uses validated designs that have been thoroughly tested to ensure the highest levels of security, stability, compatibility, performance, customer experience, and control of data, without forgetting the important aspects of

security and sustainability. Whether in the core, edge or as a hybrid cloud, this solution offers tremendous flexibility to meet customer needs.

When extending the solution to include AI, the flexibility of the infrastructure was a key consideration. Different AI products can be used, and solutions can be implemented quickly with pre-built playbooks.

In addition, each stack combines a zero-trust security architecture with the tools and features provided. With NetApp Immutable Snapshot Copies, customers can effectively protect their data against ransomware attacks, and with Cisco Intersight, they can stay up to date with the latest security patches. This means that current vulnerabilities are no longer a threat.

The deep integration of the storage systems with the different software layers, such as Kubernetes and AI products, whether open source or an enterprise product, should be emphasized. The data scientist works with the NetApp DataOps Toolkit and can use it to access ONTAP features such as snapshots and cloning without having to deal with the storage.

The ONTAP Data Fabric provides a flexible solution for quickly provisioning new data sets for testing and new model releases, for example, or storing them in an archive if needed, either on-premises or in the cloud.

Dell Technologies

Under the name Project Helix, Dell Technologies has developed a portfolio of solutions to provide different Use Cases as validated designs. Either the 15th or 16th generation servers, such as the PowerEdge R760 for use cases with no specific performance requirements, serve as the foundation.

For Use Cases that require high performance, Dell Technologies relies on the specially designed PowerEdge XE series. These custom servers can be equipped with up to 8 GPUs to meet the highest demands.

In addition, the servers can be combined with high-performance and scalable storage systems from Dell Technologies to provide maximum performance for AI tasks.

For the software stack, NVIDIA is a leading provider of AI software solutions with over 100 frameworks, pre-trained models, and tools.

The infrastructure can start with a minimal stack depending on the Use Case and scale up as requirements grow. Again, you are not limited to the NVIDIA software stack but can choose from a variety of options.

The Dell Powersizer is a tool that enables initial hardware sizing with just a few parameters such as the Use Case and AI model.

In addition to the infrastructure and software stack, Dell Technologies offers additional services related to data management, customization and inference.
